There, Limoges porcelain experienced an unprecedented flourishing and David Haviland became world famous for his innovative eye and creative genius.
In 1853 he was awarded a gold medal at the Crystal Palace Exhibition in New York.
The French government later honored his talent by awarding him a silver medal at the Paris Universal Exposition in 1855.
David Haviland has always been eager to push the boundaries of know-how.
He perfected decorative techniques by producing them with revolutionary machines.
In 1864 Haviland became the most important French porcelain producer.
The greatest royal families and heads of state from around the world have succumbed to the charm and exceptional prestige of this porcelain.
Among them are the wife of Napoleon III, Empress Eugenie, President Jacques Chirac, Prince Rainier of Monaco, as well as Presidents Roosevelt and Lincoln, to name a few.
Maison Haviland has been listed as a French brand of enormous excellence for over 175 years, sublimating the best restaurants in the world’s most important buildings, such as the Ritz and Shangri-La Hotel in Paris, Le Dorchester in London, and even the Hotel Parisian Crillon.
The most able designers, painters and sculptors of their time, such as Bracquemond, Dammouse, Suzannne Lalique, Gauguin, Dufy, Sandoz, Kandinsky and Dalì, contributed to Haviland’s reputation and history.
The Production tells the story of men and women who have participated over time in the transformation of the material, with a creative style, now called Know-out, and a 100% French production.
